Track your Lifestyle with FitBit

FitBit

FitBit is your conscience when your conscience would rather sit on the couch.

Working out is on your list, it’s even a priority, but so many less important things crop up demanding your attention and bump working out off your daily to-do list. Or you use a website or a program where you manually record your fitness activities, but you just aren’t seeing the results that the program says you should be seeing, given what you feel your activity level is.

Fitbit is designed to help you re-prioritize and objectively analyze your workout, and beyond your workout… your lifestyle.

Fitbit is a small, wireless, clip-on device that records motion data and transmits the encrypted data to the Fitbit server—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Fitbit server, in turn, calculates, from the motion data recorded by Fitbit, your daily exercise intensity levels, calories burned, sleep quality, steps taken, and distance traveled. All of that is automatic. All you do is wear the Fitbit, all day, every day.

Whenever it crosses your mind to do so, you click the button on the Fitbit and the first display that comes up will be a simple icon that shows whether or not you’re currently meeting your personal fitness goals. With another click you see the details of that information: your calories burned, steps taken, and distance traveled. By combining the Fitbit device with the use of the Fitbit website, where you can enter your food intake and specify your personal fitness goals, you can get a complete, accurate assessment of how you’re doing with your personal fitness plan, including whether or not you’re sleeping well enough. On the website, you can see, track, and share the full range of data recorded by the Fitbit: exercise intensity, net calorie intake, sleep quality, and so forth.
