Tissot T-Touch: not just a precise watch

Tissot T-TouchThe Tissot T-Touch is for those of you who would like to wear a traditional and precise Swiss watch but also need the features provided by more sport looking watches. This resistant watch made of solid titanium and sapphire crystal is also a precision instrument you can use in your trekking expeditions as it includes the following functions:

  • Barometric altimeter (in feet and meters).
  • Compass.
  • Thermometer (in ºC and ºF).
  • Barometer for tracking meteorogical trends.
  • Digital Chronograph (1/100 of a second, split and add time).
  • Alarm.
  • Date (semi-perpetual calendar) and time (12h or 24h).

These functions are activated pressing on the crown and then the touch sensitive screen. There’s an online demo of this particularity (see the links section at the end of the post).

One of the things to take into consideration with these kinds of devices is that the best readings of temperature can only be obtained by removing the watch from the wrist and waiting for 15 to 30 minutes approximately. The same thing happens to the Polar AXN700, and it’s due to body temperature.

There are several models of the T-Touch Titanium. The one showed in the picture is the T.33.7.598.59, and has the following specifications:

  • Analog/digital.
  • Orange rubber band.
  • 40.0 mm case diameter and 13.0 mm case thickness.
  • Fold-over-clasp.
  • Black dial.
  • Bezel and case made of titanium.
  • Bidirectional rotating bezel.
  • Glass made of tactile sapphire (scratch-resistant).
  • Index hour indicators.
  • Movement caliber: E40.305 Quartz (tactile).
  • 30 m (100 ft) water resistant.
