The GlobalSat GH-615B is the new sports watch from GlobalStat that integrates a GPS receiver to record routes. This product is specifically aimed at hikers, runners, bikers, skiers, or any type of outdoor sports practitioner.
In many ways it’s similar to the Garmin Forerunner 205: size, technology used, price (with the Amazon discount), lack of heart rate monitor, and so on. See the comparison in the links section below.
The GH-615B has the following features:
- SiRF Star III GPS technology. This ensures excellent sensivity in weak signal conditions (heavy cover trees, for example).
- WAAS/EGNOS for greater accuracy.
- Can store up to 60,000 waypoints.
- Waterproof.
- USB connection to a PC, where data can be downloaded and converted to typical formats. The PC software is included.
- Big display size (24.9 mm height x 39.88 mm width)
GlobalSat is also developing two versions of this watch: the GH-615M with Heart Rate Monitor (equivalent to the Garmin Forerunner 305) and the GH-615P with electronic compass and barometer.
