Condoms for your Gadgets
How many times have you seen this: your Camelbak reservoir spilling all the water and soaking all your backpack, including your last generation mobile phone. Your precious little digital camera swimming in you pocket because of the rain (that’s why you should have bought a waterproof digital camera, or a better coat!). You kid using your mobile phone as a shovel to make sand castles on the beach. For these situations and many more, Skins Mobile comes to the rescue.
Skins Mobile is a transparent cover specially designed to protect mobile phones (and any other gadget that fits) against water, dirt, mud, snow and so on.
You can even put your protected phone under rain or use it in the shower. I’ve asked Woodland Organics, the company behind Skins Mobile, if the Skins makes the mobile completely waterproof. I’ll inform you when I get the answer.
Update: the Skins are waterproof and are rated to 30 metres. This is the reply to my enquiry:
The Skins are waterproof and will last as long as your phone battery
(well they will actually last longer obviously, but your mobile is
useless without a charge!)
As far as the depth, the Skins are rated to 30 metres, however a mobile
phone would only be rated to approx 10 metres - so the depth limitation
is more down to the phone itself rather than the Skins.
